12Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13For we were all baptized byc one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. Penetcost Mural - It illustrates the descent of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove as the Apostles gathered with Mary in the upper room of a house in Jerusalem. While they worshipped, “tongues of fire” came to rest on the head of each of them. The Apostles, thus strengthened and emboldened by the Holy Spirit, went forth preaching in tongues to all and ultimately established the Church. Hence Pentecost is known as the Birthday of the Church.
