John Dziobko Collection showing the Pennsylvania Railroad ALCO PA-1 #5752 in Altoona, Pennsylvania on July 25, 1952.
This is the T-1. I didn't know that PRR built some of these at their Altoona Yard. The rest were built by their Partner, Baldwin Locomotive Co. This was also designed by Raymond Loewy, It was what was called a "Duplex" and was NOT articulated. It was also and still is known as the fastest steam locomotive ever built with speeds of 100 MPH plus. One unconfirmed report has this locomotive doing 140 MPH.
