Fragment of statue from Alesia: an armoured torso, presumably wearing mail: the hook on the chest is clear, and it seems to retain not square-cut shoulder pieces, but draped ones (with the rolled-up edge). From Bull Senon-en-Auxois 1906-7 (first publication); the piece must be in Espérandieu's catalogue of Gaulish sculpture, vol. 3 (1910).

This is the sculpture from the 2009 National Gallery of Art (Washington DC) exhibit on Pompeii, and is the one that I remember with the straw hat. The author of the exhibit guide, Dr. Carol Mattusch from GMU, kindly sent it to me: “It was found in 1827 in Pompeii, in the nymphaeum of the House of the Little Fountain (VI.8.23-24), right beside a water basin. It's in the Naples Archaeological Museum, no. 4994.”
