Perimenopause shouldn’t stop you from getting the results you want.

In fact, I know it won’t stop you, because *most* of my clients have this is common:

They are intense, pitta women who have a lot on their plates and make stuff happen but sometimes they have trouble shutting off at night.

Because I’ve worked with so many of these people before, I know exactly how to help you get the results you want without losing the structure you enjoy.

Period Conversations
I went from hiding my pads in my shopping cart to sharing about what cycle day I'm on, on the internet! If you told me 8 years ago I would be talking about periods, I would have thought you were joking. I was the girl who had her mom buy her pads into her mid-20's. I’ve since written two books about the menstrual cycle 🤯 It started as a simple nudge to explore, research, and live my life according to my cycle, and seeing results I felt the calling to share this wisdom with more women. You, might also be a little shy talking about your period, or preparing for perimenopause. One of the most empowering things you can do is learn about your body. Play detective what makes you feel good each month, become aware if you ovulate each month, understand what your monthly bleed tells you a
The Cyclical Woman Collection
A few weeks ago I was invited as a last minute addition to help thousands of women heal their hormones, learn about their cycles, and live in alignment with their natural rhythms. I can relate to the struggles that you may be facing, especially when it comes to navigating hormonal health. I just had a baby and will be 39 in September. I'm not only balancing my hormones postpartum but working on preparing the body for perimenopause potentially. #lotsgoingon What I do know is that period pain ca
Ayurvedic Period
How to have a better period using a few Ayurvedic tips. Just like all of Ayurveda you take what works for you and leave the rest. Why use period underwear and pads vs tampons and menstrual cups? In Ayurveda the period is associated with the apana vayu. The down and out flow that occurs naturally in the body. Tampons and menstrual cups and disrupt that flow. I’ve had clients make this switch and instantly noticed a shift and others can wear cups and tampons and feel just fine. You do you. Alternate nostril breathing is a great way to reduce stress and is pacifying for all 3 doshas. Doing this throughout the month is a great 5 minute practice to add into your day. Hot water packs on the belly to bring warmth to the pelvis. I’m a huge fan of castor oil packs and doing 1-2 a month t

Reduce Cramps
Drinking a cup of either ginger or red raspberry leaf tea 4 days before you start bleeding to help reduce period pain. ✨Benefits of taking ginger tea it promotes downward movement, brings warmth and promotes grounding. Helps reduce pain and inflammation in the body. ✨Benefits of taking red raspberry leaf tea is it’s a uterus toning and supporting herb, helps calm the nervous system and reduces inflammation. Inversions during your period
We all have our attachments to stories or why we want to do something. I’ve found when I suggest to take a day or two off during your bleeding phase people have strong reactions towards. Inversions are another example of attachments we might have when I suggest we don’t want to during the bleeding phase. There is Ayurvedic and yogic wisdom as to why not. Often we don’t like to be told what to do and have a chip on our shoulder and say well I will show you, I do them and I’m just fine. I had that chip on my shoulder and wore it like a badge of honor. Until I learned the actual science behind why, we don’t and if anyone has ever done an inversion while bleeding coming out of one you might have an embarrassing sound that comes out as you just interrupted the apana vayu. Apana Vayu is
Perimenopause 101
Perimenopause Month on the Podcast continues This week I had my friend Dr. Amy come on to chat all about the ins & outs of perimenopause. If you want to go deep with your hormones and heal yourself Dr. Amy is your gal. Here is her bio- Dr. Amy is a naturopathic doctor and alumni of Bastyr University. She firmly believes in the Craft & Clinic philosophy of a balance of science and art in crafting customized healthcare. She employs an AND/Both integrated philosophy in that sometimes we need a prescription or a hospital, and we also need a long-game plan for our health. There are no quick fixes, no magic pills, and dancing around symptoms without getting to the core of a health crisis doesn't work. Dr. Amy works compassionately with women and female bodied people, supporting them from
Struggling with period pain
Struggling with period pain? 🛑 Start Here ⬇️ 1️⃣Remove inflammatory foods 2️⃣Reduce stress 3️⃣Workout with your cycle Below are common Inflammatory foods • ✅ Alcohol • ✅ Processed Foods • ✅ Fast food • ✅ Foods that you can’t digest (salads are one woman’s medicine and can be another’s poison) • ✅Sugar ✅ Fried Foods If most of your diet looks like the above start with one meal a day and make slow sustainable changes vs overhauling everything in a week. Stress 😩 We all know stress isn’t great for us and it can also effect your menstrual health as well. Workout with your cycle 🧘🏼‍♀️ The benefits of working out with y
It’s okay to rest
Rest can be so hard. Especially in a productive on the go world that we live in. How can we take time to rest a few days each month on our bleeds? That is an edge I played with personally. It’s hard to go against the status quo. It’s hard to believe you need to slow down. It’s sometimes hard to see the benefits in doing so. In a world driven by mens hormones- the 9-5 workday for example it’s set up for them to thrive where women’s hormones are not set to be acknowledged at all. We are supposed to thrive all month long be the same day in and day out. But that’s not our reality. Yes, hormonal birth control will lesson that edge but why do we have to adjust our bodies to meet the demands of the world 🤷🏼‍♀️ So yes, rest dear one when you need to, especially those first few days of
Period pain normal but doesn’t have to happen
Learning how to live in alignment with your menstrual cycle can help you reduce period cramps, pain and PMS naturally. The only hot water packs you have to do are voluntary castor oil packs when you want a little relaxation each month. (Follicular phase is a great time to add those into your routines by the way) If you constantly push your body during the bleeding phase it affects apana vayu which is the down & out moment we need at that time. The body is working hard already so give it a break. You don’t have to hit your PR that week, you don’t have to schedule yourself to the max. that week. How can you take some moment back in your favor? Often diet and lifestyle are the ways you can find yourself back in balance. That’s why I’m a big fan of using Ayurveda as one of the tools
