I like this idea for preschool. I think that is a great way to explore each others differences. I could have each child pick their favorite thing and take a picture of their hand with it and place them in a book like this. It shows children, in a simple way, we are different but our hands are the same.

Hands-On Egg Diversity Activity for Kids
I like this activity for the fact that it really demonstrates that no matter what we look like on the outside, we are all the same in the inside. This activity allows me to demonstrate exactly want diversity is all about.

I like this idea of creating a class puzzle. Each student would be asked to create a piece that represents them. Them I would have them put the puzzle together, showing together we fit and create one. This activity helps me to establish classroom community and belongingness.

I love this book as it helps me teach children that even though some people are different than others, they skill deserve to be treated equally. I want all children in my class to feel welcome and equal.

I think that this is a neat idea to get to know each other in the beginning of the year. I think that I might alter this to use actual pictures of the students and have arrows to where they came from. I think it would be meaningful to also have a caption with someone unique about them or their culture.
