Ancient Dacia brought to life part Every year, Romanians all over the country celebrate and pay tribute to the ancient Dacians, an old people of Eastern Europe who lived on the territory of present day Romania.

The Dacians were an Indo-European people, related to the Thracians. Inhabiting Dacia, located in the area in and around the Carpathian Mountains and west of the Black Sea, in the present-day countries of Romania and Moldova, as well as parts of Ukraine, Eastern Serbia, Northern Bulgaria, Slovakia, Hungary and Southern Poland. They spoke the Dacian language, closely related to Thracian, but were culturally influenced by neighbouring Scythians and the Celtic invaders of the 4th century BC.
