Shakespeare attempts to redraw his audience into the play by incorporating different elements of theater. "Upon her skinny lips; you should be women, yet your beards forbid me to interpret that you are so." (Act 1. Sc 3.) This dynamic is often used in plays in order to keep the audience attentive and listening, whilst also not fully distracting them from that which Shakespeare is trying to put forth. Such as the fact that the witches are in face ugly as many thought them to be.
