Fjord gelding, Høg Sølvar. He is a buckskin dun, called white dun or ulsblakk. In the past, this was the preferred color; but since buckskin carries a cream gene, the chance of 'kvit' (homozygous double cream) progeny worried breeders. Before genetics was understood, breeders of many breeds feared cremellos, perlinos, and smoky creams (kvit in Fjord terminology) thinking they were 'defective' albinos. A shame.
