Old buildings in Pienza are decorated with colorful flowers :) And between 1st and 10th of May there is a flower and plant fair which is held every year. The central market in Pienza, Piazza Pio II is completely invaded by flowers and it looks simply amazing. This is indeed the "ideal city", as Pope Pius II wished to create. Because initially, Pienza was just a small village (called Corsignano) but Pope Pius II transformed it into a classical Renaissance ideal city. He did a great job! :)

Klompen are the traditional Dutch clogs, made of wood. Even though they don't look so comfortable, it is said that it is very healthy to wear them. Either way, they are a great souvenir from The Netherlands, especially if you buy them from a local woodcraft shop (these are from Marken village in the northern part of the country)

Louvre Pyramid is a symbol of Paris. It has been completed in 1989 by Chinese architect Ieoh Ming Pei and even though at the beginning the citizens of Paris considered it an audacious construction, too modern compared to the surrounding historical palace, it has soon became one of the most appreciated landmarks in Paris. And as you know, there is also an inverted pyramid, part of the Carrousel du Louvre shopping mall.

This picture was taken in Paris, on Pont des Arts, in front of Institut de France - the so called "Protector of Arts, Literature and Science". This building was actually a former school, the Collège des Quatre-Nations, but since 1795 houses five academies: Académie française, Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-lettres, Académie des Sciences, Académie des Beaux-arts and Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques.

If a Parisian will see this post with the locks of love from Pont des Arts bridge, it will probably disagree with promoting the habit of hanging the locks on the bridge. There have been several discussions and even an Instagram campaign (#lovewithoutlocks) to stop the hanging, which was actually threatening the structure of the bridge. We do understand this and the French people are right. This is not even a French tradition, it has been imported from other countries.
