It was saved from a 1930s text book. The teal color of the water has softened with age. The map is unusual because it depicts the topography of the landscape, wild life, history, major cities, agricultural and industrial pursuits with sketches and a very few printed words. The drawings make clear the outstanding characteristics of each country, so it was easy for the reader to visulize and also aided in remembering the text. The map would be beautiful framed. It would also be useful for altered art projects, including totes, cards, pillows, etc. A grouping of these maps framed would be beautiful. There is a *very light* tanning of the margins, but it's hardly worth mentioning. You can eliminate it with any art project or if you are going to frame a print of the map the margins will be covered by a mat. The teal green and black have also aged to nice mellow shades. Considering the maps came out of a text book and were obviously handled by kids, their condition is pretty amazing. The entire page measures about 7.5 x 10 inches. The image itself measures 5 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches. There is a raw edge on each map where it was attached to the book. There is also a slight crease on each map in one of the upper corners of the margin. It is not due to any damage or mishandling, nor does it come near the image of the map itself. It was caused when they bound the book. It will be covered by a mat if you frame it.
