The men’s garment were called shenti, wrapped around at the waist covering the body. Some of them had cords attached to tie the garment, and in others the fabric’s knotted at the waist or held up with a knotted cloth belt. The shenti evolved from a short kilt to a longer kilt, extending to the ankle. Egyptian men often went shirtless and sometimes wore a plain shirt-like garment with their shenti, belted with cloth.
