Anna Petrovna of Russia

Paul I (Russian: Pavel I) became the Emperor of Russia at the age of 42, and was a ruler of Russia between 1796 and 1801. He also was the 72nd Grand Master of the Order of Malta. His mother Catherine II was right saying that "people who had been waiting for a crown for too long should't be crowned, as they spoiled their mind and would spoil the power". Paranoiac and impatient, Pavel lost his friends, love of his family and was killed due to a plot targeted to crown his son Alexander I.
