Kareem Parkins-Brown is a writer and visual artist. He is a proud northwest Londoner and Barbican Young Poet alumnus, and won the Roundhouse Poetry Slam in 2019. His work concerns nostalgia, grief, surrealism and hood life circa 2005 - present day. "I made a small family tree of "handy people" because we are all built by villages. Hands are the top workers of the body and the piece represents what happens we put them together as communities and families – we become who we are."
