Cousins and playmates.  King Michael with his 2nd cousin Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark.  Michael's mother and Philip's father were 1st cousins.  Years later, Michael would meet his future wife, Princess Anne of Bourbon-Parma, while in London for Philip's wedding to Princess Elizabeth of York on Nov. 20, 1947.  Just weeks after that happy event Michael would be forced from his throne.

January 23, 1991—Princess Ileana of Romania known as Mother Alexandra after becoming a nun.  She founded the Monastery of the Holy Transfiguration, a community of nuns of the Orthodox Church in America. She was an aunt of former King Michael of Romania and a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain.

Queen Marie of Romania~  This British- and Russian-ancestry beauty married Ferdinand of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen, destined to be King of Romania, in 1893. She was courted and proposed to by the future George V, but the Germanophobic Alexandra and Anglophobic Maria Alexandrovna broke up the proposed marriage
