18th Century New England blanket chest with great tulip decoration over old green paint.  Found in Southern Maine.  25 1/2" high x 50" long x 20 1/2" deep.

A VERY RARE CHIPPENDALE PAINT-DECORATED POPLAR BLANKET CHEST, PROBABLY MONTGOMERY COUNTY, NEW HANOVER TOWNSHIP, PENNSYLVANIA, DATED 1775.nscribed along top rail 17 JOHANNES REICHERT 75. Feet replaced. Appears to retain original brass hardware.  Height 29 1/4 in. by Width 49 in. by Depth 24 3/4 in.
