Description In the summer of 2006 I was teaching art classes for kids at the Old Sculpin Gallery on Martha's Vineyard. One day I decided we should have a pirate day, so I had the kids design their own treasure maps and then showed them how to age the paper. Basically, we crinkled the paper, ripped it up, dropped some ink blotches on it, dunked it in water, and then rubbed inexpensive coffee grounds into the paper. It worked really well.
