Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge Boardwalk - Nisqually, Washington -- This used to be one of my favorite nature walks in the southern Puget Sound region. It is located just north of Olympia, WA. near Lewis-McCord military installation. Sadly they closed the 5-mile walk, leaving only the 1-mile trail. They drowned the 5-mile area and made it a bird sanctuary.
Lake Superior Ice Caves on Grand Island, just off the shore in Munising, Michigan. A short walk from Sand Point Beach across frozen Lake Superior will leave you at the base of ice curtains more than 30 feet tall and stretching hundreds of feet wide.
