MARTIN FROBISHER Introduced 30 yrs ago. Throughout summer, it blooms freely with sweetly scented double flowers 2-2 1/2 inches across. The center of each is a warm deep pink that blends to a paler hue as it reaches the petal tips. The elongated, matte foliage is dense & highly resistant to mildew. The reddish-brown canes are rather smooth for a rugosa, with virtually no thorns near the flowers. In winter, the color of the canes darkens more.
