Out of all the amazing flowers and plants I saw at the Floating Flower Market in Amsterdam, this cacti seemed the most interesting. I’ve always liked these funny looking plants, mostly because they require so little to survive (I’m not very skilled at keeping plants alive). However, I’ve never seen so many cacti in one place, particularly so many colorful ones.
The Netherlands is more than just the charming Amsterdam and the very modern Rotterdam. It is well worth it to take a drive through the countryside for idyllic landscapes just like this one. Most of this country is covered with streams, canals and rivers, which means the landscape is rich, green and simply amazing.
Amsterdam has plenty of beautiful old buildings, but, at the same time, there are plenty of modern constructions just like this one, that are trying to distinguishing themselves from the pack with something unusual. The SBS building in Rietlandpark is a high tech edifice, that had an actual lizard on its facade when I saw it a few years back.
