Hadeeth and Sunnah

The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, yet there is good in both. Be vigilant about things that benefit you, seek the Assistance of Allah, and do not be weak. When a matter befalls you, do not say, 'Had I done such-and-such, then such-and-such would have happened.' Instead, say, '[It was] the Qadar of Allah, and He does whatever He wills,' because [the word] 'if' opens up the work of Shaytaan." (Muslim collected it.)

A man will go on being truthful and looking for opportunities to be truthful until Allah writes him down as a siddeeq (a devoutly honest believer).
