Bayside Cemetery is one of several cemeteries that make up the "Cemetery Belt" in Queens, NY. Because they reached their capacities years ago and income petered off, the cemeteries have fallen into disrepair. At Bayside there was a point when exposed human remains were identified at several overgrown sites. Much of it has been cleaned up somewhat, the office is still standing but is in shambles, and gaping mausoleums are shut up with cinderblocks and boards
