Maasai dance

Maasai warriors singing and dancing for tourists in N'Gama village, Masai Mara, Kenya. This dance is also a jumping competition. A circle is formed by the warriors, and one or two at a time will enter the center to begin jumping while maintaining a narrow posture, never letting their heels touch the ground. Members of the group may raise the pitch of their voices based on the height of the jump.

They are seminomadic and belong to the Maa (Nilotic) speaking group of people. They do very little farming. Their livelihood depends upon the cattle, sheep and goats they raise.
