Aiden Wilson Tozer (1897 –1963) was an American Christian pastor, preacher, author, magazine editor, and spiritual mentor. 44 years of ministry, associated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA), a Protestant Evangelical denomination. Among the more than 60 books that bear his name, at least two are regarded as Christian classics: The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy. His books impress on the reader the possibility and necessity for a deeper relationship with God.

John Bunyan (28 November 1628 – 31 August 1688) was an English Christian writer and preacher, who is well-known for his book The Pilgrim's Progress. Bunyan became a popular preacher as well as a very voluminous author, though most of his works consist of expanded sermons. In theology he was a Puritan, but not a partisan. He was no scholar, except of the English Bible, but that he knew thoroughly. He also drew much influence from Martin Luther's Commentary on the Epistle to the Galatians.
