Last time I was in IKEA they had these large glass domes (cloches) on offer with their family card. Well I can't resist a bargin so decided to buy one. The only thing was to decide what to put in it. I love the trend for tropicals in home decor at the moment and I'm particularly fond of tropical birds and parrots. In fact I have a great collection of free vintage parrot paintings on my site.With the cloche I decided to create my own tropical avairy for my mantle. Last time I was in IKEA they had these large glass domes (cloches) on offer with their family card. Well I can't resist a bargin so decided to buy one. The only thing was to decide what to put in it. I love the trend for tropicals in home decor at the moment and I'm particularly fond of tropical birds and parrots. In fact I have a great collection of free vintage parrot paintings on my site.With the cloche I decided to create my own tropical avairy for my mantle.
I saw a gorgeous, wall-mounted, woven wine rack at Anthropologie. Sadly, shipping anything internationally is expensive, so I decided to make my own. My version is made from a fabric table runner and has a couple of extra storage pockets. I was commissioned to make this mosaic cross for a newly built small church in Texas. This 3-demensional cross features recycled china shards from a variety of vintage china sources in varying colors. The white center pieces were strategically placed to represent the Holy Spirit.
