Fabulous Butterfly Pin This is a monumental 14 kt yellow gold plique a jour butterfly pin - the mother of all butterfly pins!! This magnificent plique a jour pin, ca 1990, is in the Victorian style. The colors are unbelievable, rich and warm. The pin is engraved on the back with the maker's name and the carat weight of all stones. I am not familiar with this maker - "Zen," but his work is incomparable.
They just don't come any sweeter than this lovely little butterfly brooch. With just over a 1 1/8 inch wingspan, her wings glisten with numerous, teeny-tiny, closely set seed pearls, which envelop four bright crystalline red rubies. Her slender abdomen twinkles with six small bright-white European-cut diamonds. Handcrafted in 14K rosy-yellow gold - circa 1890. Marked Riker Bros., she doubles as a watch pin.
