Ulyana Sergeenko. 32 years old, wife of a Russian insurance billionaire, and upcoming couture designer. It has been said that some of her Russian clientele buy 100 pieces a time. Recently voted as trendsetter of the year in Russia, Ulyana's blend of 1950's pin-up and folksy babushka has made her a national treasure.
These aren't necessarily what I would have chosen for each era. The more iconic or representative look would be: 1920s: a T-strap; 1940s: Open-toed platform chunky heels with an ankle strap, 1950s: a little pointed-toe early stiletto court shoe; 1990s: Dr. Martens Oxfords or boots, although those chunky sandals are pretty '90s, too. And as much as I hate them, extremely high stiletto platforms in a plain beige pump are what I think of as THE look of the 2000s.
