In the medallion centre is the model of the Crown of Romania specially designed and made (iron from a Turkish gun captured in the 1877 war) for the coronation of Prince Carol of Hohenzollern as King Carol I of Romania. A Grand Cross set 1st model (1877) for military in time of war.
