The way that society views us and the way that other human beings view us is what this picture is a prime example of. These summaries under each heading are a prime example of how people can subject a person to something so easily. Just because the definition says something doesn't necessarily mean its true.
Men and women both have different attributes that help improve "culture, peers, community, media, and religion, are some of the many influences that shape our understanding of this core aspect of identity" (Gender Spectrum, 2014). These attributes also affect how both genders are viewed and this example helps us understand how the force from men and the power from women and work together to make significant things happen.
Understanding gender rights and masculine and femine ideals is a concept some can not comprehend. Many people still believe that women have roles that they are suppose to do and men have roles that they are suppose to do and both genders have to stick to these "roles". Women and men both have different traits that they are better at then the other sex but that doesn't mean that they should be subjected to those roles.
With Gender binary it makes me think that this is what the spectrum looks like. The gender binary system is a system that is set up to make us think this is how it is to be. Women do what you are suppose to; which society has made you out to be, and men do what you are suppose to.
The main concept that i get from gender binary is "gender" and "masculine" and "feminine". These main concepts is what I am trying to base my opinion off of. Men and women are two completely genders with there own expectations, but even though gender has an expectation from society doesn't mean anything. Gender is learned from how we were raised and taught. Gender is a learning process that we learn form experience.
Women and men are subjected to roles everyday. Within the work force you would expect a man to be the doctor and a women to be the nurse, but in this case the roles are reversed. Even though we see gender roles that way doesnt mean they cant be changed. Women are quite capable of being a doctor and men are quite capable of being a nurse and just because these genders have picked to do a role that some would say isn't accepted by society doesn't mean we should judge them.
Ted talks always has great videos with great stories. This one particular story is about gender binary and transgender transformation. It is a great story that I loved listening to, which helped me understand gender binary in a more personal way and how it is problematic throughout the world even today.
Feminism and masculism both have key differences that paint problems within society. Feminism focuses on problems with men within society and focuses on women's rights. Masculism focuses on problems with women within society and the men's rights and needs. These two movements focus on making men and women equal within the world and dealing with main issues both men and women related throughout society.
Within societies there is a “so-called system” that gender roles fall under. With this binary system there are two distinct classifications; feminism and masculine. This type of classification can discourage people and put a social boundary on both genders. This system involves roles and identities for both genera and tries to identify where males and females fit into society.
