Sharyn Kish on Instagram: "Here are a few ways to use those mini fly swatters… 1. Teacher (or family member) says a word. Students “swat” the beginning sound heard in the word dictated. (Great phoneme to grapheme practice) The first one to slap it gets to grab it from the table. Play until there are no more cards. 2. Play the same way but students listen for the middle vowel sound. **You can change up the game to listen for ending sounds in the words dictated. 3. Sound Circle. Lay out letter cards on the table (or use post-it notes). Students use a whisper phone and “fun” pointer to walk around the table and “whisper” read the letter and sound for each card. (A great way to informally assess and provide immediate feedback) #kinder #kindergarten #kindergartenactivities #firstgradetea Beginning Sound Games Kindergarten, Fun Letter Sound Activities, Letter Sound Practice Kindergarten, How To Teach Letter Recognition And Sounds, Letter Recognition Activities For Kindergarten, Vowel Letters Activities, Phonic Sound Activity For Kids, Phonics Sounds Activities, Vowel Games For Kindergarten

The students have seen these on my shelf and are always itching to use them - so today we found a great purpose for them. We also worked on strengthening executive functioning skills by asking kindergartners to recall and identify and sequence of sounds. #OG #ortongillingham #ortongillinghamteachers #vowels #kindergarten #readingtime #teachertips #executivefunctioning #executivefunctioningskills #readingteachers" Short Vowel Games Kindergarten, Vowel Activity For Kindergarten, Short Vowel Activities Kindergarten, Vce Activities, Vowel Intensive Activities, Vowels Games For Kindergarten, How To Teach Vowels Kindergarten, Vowels Activity For Kindergarten, Vowel Activities For Kindergarten
