Eli Yovits OTR/L, CHT on Instagram: "✨Taping for Thumb CMC osteoarthritis✨  💥When you have thumb CMC arthritis you can have a lot of pain with pinching and gripping at the base of the thumb.   👉One way to help treat this and alleviate some pain is by using a taping technique to give some support by strategically wrapping around the painful joint.   ✨I start with a long strip and cut halfway through the tape. Before applying I measure it on the patient to make sure the length is good.   ✨Apply the wider part of the tape at the base of the thumb. Slight stretch over the CMC joint. First thinner strip goes around the base of the thumb, second strip slightly overlaps it.  👏Smooth it out and your done!!  ✨In more mild cases or flare ups this can help manage pain really nicely.
