1. Know your sun exposure. This helps with planting timelines. Is your location full sun, even during the spring weather or is it part shade? We have one trellis in full sun spring and summer so we just planted peas in that trellis today (our last frost date mid April). Our other two trellises are actually in part shade until May and we need the sun to move over just a bit. We plant our other trellises first two weeks of April so they get the sun they need. We harvest it all in July at the same time!

2. Don't mix varieties! Snap peas and shelling peas are harvested at different times. You won't know which ones to harvest early as they get intertwined. Shelling peas are meant to grow large and the skin is harder and not as tasty Snap Pea Trellis, Snap Peas Garden, Pea Growing, Pea Trellis, Growing Peas, Pea Plant, Growing Tips, Snap Peas, Spring Weather

Mitch | PNW No Dig on Instagram: "Pea Trellis! This past weekend I took advantage of the nice weather to get out in the garden and work on another project that's been on my list for a while. I designed and built a set of trellises for the two small raised beds in the lower garden area by the greenhouse. I figured this would be a perfect space for the snap peas since it's relatively protected from the deer. Since I've already started the peas in the greenhouse there was no more delaying getting this project done! I was able to use salvaged 1x1" cedar to build the frames and then string some jute twine between to create the climbing structure for the peas. Although the jute will likely need to be replaced each year (a minor expense), the frames are fully portable and can be stored in the Peas Trellis, Snap Pea Trellis, Climbing Structure, Pea Trellis, Deer Fence, Nice Weather, Garden Area, The Greenhouse, Snap Peas

Kelly Welk on Instagram: "If you’re planning to grow snap peas, green beans, sweet pea flowers … or really anything that needs trellising. Here are a few ways we have found to create easy garden structures. Get the trellis in place now and you’ll be able to train your plants up the trellis as they grow-it’s much easier then trying to add it in once they’re crazy vining lumps in the garden! The moral of this is that you can use all sorts of things! As long as there is something for the vines to grab onto and preferably 5ish feet tall. The snap peas that grow on our bed spring trellis end up growing up one side and then vine along the top as they get taller - it’s a bit short but it’s so cute and sturdy I just love it. What do you have that you can use? What are you trellising!? I’m add Grow Snap Peas, Snap Pea Trellis, Bean Trellis, Pea Trellis, Growing Sweet Peas, Small Trellis, Bed Spring, Pea Plant, Get Taller
