Over grouted stone for a gas fireplace

A renovation putting in a new gas fireplace. I was wanting that overgrouted rustic look. We took out windows and doors then reframed for a fireplace flanked by windows. My husband framed and placed the insert one day. Applied the stone the next day. Grouted another day.
