I had a pogo stick similar to this. The design is terrible, because the spring (inside the tube) wants to bend sideways, so it makes a lot of friction, which keeps it from bouncing very high. Even taking it apart and greasing the tube and spring doesn't help much. Recently much better-designed (and quite dangerous!) pogo sticks have become available, that can get bouncing over 10 feet high.
