Narcissus (Waterhouse, 1903) When the Nymph Echo fell in love with Narcissus, but was rejected, she wandered the forests the rest of her days until all that remained of her was an Echo. This brought on the vengeance of the goddess Nemesis, who lured Narcissus to a pool where he fell in love with his own reflection. Narcissus is bound to this pool, unable to pull himself from the beatuy of his own reflection, and dies of hunger.
