Fill the hole with concrete and place the first layer of lightweight blocks (we used 15 x 19 x 49 cm leca blocks). Ensure they’re level and let them dry. 3. After the foundation dries, continue with the next layers. However, only do two at a time to ensure stability. Use regular mortar to bind the blocks. Alternate the pattern of the blocks in each row to add stability to the fireplace. 4.
