Middle School students will dive right into this awesome lesson that focuses on the principle of perspective while designing a 3D looking aquarium.

The 2nd Grade students studied the artist Vincent Van Gogh and his artwork. We also read the book, Camille and the Sunflowers. The students were able to create a giant sunflower creating emphasis in their artwork. Then they were shown how to blend colors using oil pastels. The students had to choose a cool color for their background to make their sunflower "pop" in their piece of art.

My second-grade students completed these simple oil pastel resist birds in one 45-minute class. It’s a pretty simple lesson… no-fuss bird drawing using oil pastel then paint with liquid watercolors. My second graders recently learned about simple ways to show depth in an artwork.
