Peter I the Great (1672 - 1725). Tsar of All the Russias from 1682 until his death in 1725. He married twice and had five children. He led a cultural revolution in Russia to replace the traditionalist social and political system.

As a ruler Peter the Great continued past policies but added a new ways of doing things by changing the economy and culture through imitation of Western forms.
