Joan Baez is a Mexican American folk singer and prominent activist in the fields of human rights, peace, and environmental justice. In the 60's and 70's, she led 600 people in an antiwar demonstration in San Francisco, performed at King's March on Washington and at Woodstock, stood alongside César Chávez to fight for fair wages and safe working conditions for Californian migrant farm workers, and helped found the USA section of Amnesty International.
