Happy Kwanzaa everyone! Kwanzaa is a cultural, communal and communitarian celebration formed and founded by Dr. Maulana Karenga based on seven principles which could catalytically bring liberation.

This holiday season, use informational texts and research of the history and traditions of Kwanzaa for grades 1-3 by teaching a unit that integrates ELA and social studies at the same time! The materials in this unit are interactive and utilize multimodal strategies to increase student engagement and outcomes. The research unit is a comprehensive week long unit that integrates technology, vocabulary, writing, art, reading strategies and more!
