Dr Catherine Hamlin: 1958 obstetrician, gynaecologist & midwifery school In Ethiopia. Hamlin witnessed obstetric fistula. In Ethiopia it lead to women being outcast from society, living in excruciating pain. Many cases arrived so she created a hospital dedicated restoring women’s lives. Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital gives womens lives back, they travel from around the country to visit. Hamlin never returned home full-time, at age 89 she still operates & works in the hospital.
