On Easter Sunday, 2011, Daniel Bartlam decided to commit the perfect murder by killing his own mother. That night, after calmly mowing the lawn and eating some Easter eggs, he sneaked into his mother’s bedroom and hit her on the head seven times with a claw hammer. Daniel then covered her bloodied body with paper, doused it in petrol and set fire to it, hoping to destroy the evidence. Police found the hammer in his room, and videos of a tv show depicting the same crime.
At the age of 8, Carroll Cole committed his first murder when he drowned an 8-year-old boy. The boy’s death was considered an accident until Cole confessed in 1980. As an adult Cole was an alcoholic who served time in jail and mental hospitals. His second murder was committed in 1971 and he would proceed to murder at least 13 more women, including his wife, until his arrest and confession in 1980. Cole was sentenced to death and executed in December 1985.
Robbie was celebrating his 8th birthday when he was assaulted, tied to a tree and set alight. No one was ever charged for the crime, although police had suspected 13-year-old neighbor Don Collins. In a 27 minute statement to police, Robbie confirmed Collins was indeed responsible for the attack, and had done so in order to silence the boy from revealing that he had sexually assaulted him 2 weeks previously. In 2001 Collins was jailed for sexually assaulting another 8-year-old boy.
Little Kayla Rolland Shot to death in February 2000 by her 6 year old classmate in Flint Michigan. A boy has an argument with a girl in his class. The next day, he brings a .32-caliber semiautomatic pistol to school and shoots her in the chest. She is pronounced dead at a nearby hospital within an hour.
At 13, Eric Smith was bullied because of his thick glasses, freckles, long red hair and one other quality: He had protruding, elongated ears. These were believed to be a side effect of medicine his mother had taken for her epilepsy when she was pregnant. Police charged Smith with the murder of a four-year-old boy named Derrick Robie. The younger child had been strangled, had large rocks dropped on his head, and had been sodomized with a small stick.

The two boys walked around with the toddler for hours before finally beating him to death and leaving him on the railroad tracks, his head covered with bricks.
