Daces - nom romain des thraces du Nord, Bas-Danube. Les Daces sont parfois identifiés aux Gètes (on les appellent Gèto-Daces, Gètes est leur nom grec, et Daces leur nom latin, d'autres historiens considèrent qu'il s'agit de 2 peuples distincts, apparentés : Daces de part et d'autre des Carpates, Gètes le long du Danube. Au sud de l'Haemos, les sources antiques ne parlent plus de Daces ou de Gètes mais de Thraces. Les historiens débattent pour savoir s'il s'agit d'un seul peuple thrace.
