Why is December 1st celebrated as the National Day of Romania?    94 years ago, on December 1st 1918, a centuries old dream came true.     After hundreds of years under the occupation and oppresion of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, The National Assembly of Transylvania voted unanimously to unite with its brothers from Romania into one great state, known from then on as Greater Romania.     After centuries, all the romanian inhabited lands were united in a single nation.
