Like a lot of powerful supporters of Duvalier, he was thrown into Fort Dimanche by Papa Doc who sought full control of his regime. Barbot took revenge by ordering a hit that killed Jean-Claude and Simone's chauffeur and 2 bodyguards as the children were going to school. Lived in hideout until went in exile in Argentina.
