Dacian Draco on Trajan's Column. The Dacian Draco was the standard and ensign of troops of the ancient Dacian people. It can be seen in the hands of the soldiers of Decebalus in several scenes depicted on Trajan's Column in Rome, Italy.
TIL of the ancient Roman cavalry standard called the draco which were made of cloth and looked like snakes when stationary. They would fully inflate to look like dragons and make hissing noises during cavalry charges.
