Cantacuzino was a renowned Romanian physician and bacteriologist.He graduated from the University of Paris' Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Medicine, and worked at several hospitals in Paris, obtaining his doctorate in 1894.Based on investigations in this direction, the doctor has developed a cholera vaccination method, called "Method Cantacuzino", still used today in countries where there are cases of cholera.
Emil Racoviță / 15 November 1868 – 17 November 1947/ was a Romanian biologist, zoologist, speleologist, explorer of Antarctica and the first biologist in the world to study the arctic life. Together with Grigore Antipa, he was one of the most noted promoters of natural sciences in Romania. Racoviță was the first Romanian to have gone on a scientific research expedition to the Antarctic, more than 100 years ago, as well as an influential professor, scholar and researcher.
