Do you have an area or corner in your classroom where students can go to get calm? I personally think every classroom should have a designated area students can go to get calm. Teaching students different calming strategies to use is vital for them to cope and be able to calm down.
Visuals are so important to use with students. Especially important to use with student that have special education needs or need behavior support. These visual break cards can be used in many different ways to provide a visual for students for the number of breaks they are allowed. As breaks are used students turn in their break tokens. Once all tokens are gone they have used all their breaks.
