family letters
"Sea faring men, sir; they say they have letters for you." (Act IV, scene vi, 5) This picture connects to the novel because there are so many letters sent behind people's backs. Claudius sends a letter to England so that they will kill Hamlet, Hamlet sends Horatio a letter to tell him he's coming back, and then there's the letters between Hamlet and Ophelia that are used to analyze Hamlet. It seems that letters in the play signify deceit.
