mama gave me a model car (Cracker Barrel) that was the same type as the car they owned when I was a baby. Rare 4 Gal. Stoneware Churn stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON / UTICA, NY," circa 1885, ovoid churn with applied lug handles, flared collar, and tooled rim, decorated with a large brushed & slip-trailed paddle tail bird perched on a flowering plant. A few spots of touch up to fry in cobalt. 1 3/4" rim chip beside a smaller rim chip. 8" crack from rim on reverse. Numerous sealed flakes to surface on right side of churn. Crocker Farm. 3/1/14. Lot#429. Est:$600-800. Butter Crock

Ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, & applied lug handles. Strong, vibrant and impressive Decoration depicts four strong-jawed, mustached soldiers in a tightly-formed battle line, each with distinctive kepi hat, buttoned coat, & rifle with bayonet covering most of the churn's front. H 15 1/2".
