An Art Therapy directive I came up with for children in grief. Have the child identify what colors represent what feelings for them (for example, blue could be sad, red could be mad, etc.). We can feel a number of feelings in the grieving process. Have them pick out the colors of the feelings they're feeling, using broken crayons of those colors, melt them down in muffin tins into grief crayons. As they color, encourage them to think about releasing the feelings associated with each color.
